What is Microsoft Teams?

What is Microsoft Teams ? Microsoft Teams is a chat-based workspace in Office 365 . Office 365 is a collaboration service that addresses the specific needs and challenges of working in a team. Since the needs of the company for cooperation are unique, there is no one right for everyone. Companies use applications such as Outlook, SharePoint, Skype for Business and Yammer in Office 365 to meet different needs arising from working together . Office 365 has strong commitments to security, compatibility, privacy and transparency. Microsoft Teams was developed with the same principles used to deliver a corporate platform.

Microsoft Teams architecture has been developed from the outset, with compatibility, authentication and privacy in mind. Microsoft Teams aims to have built-in compliance with industry standards support, including ISO 27001 and 27018, SOC 1 and SOC 2, HIPPA, EU Model Contract Clauses and much more.

Microsoft Teams securely protects team data using strong security measures, including two-factor authentication, hard passwords, and access policies. All your data in chat, notes or files are encrypted.

When Microsoft Teams is enabled for your entire company, designated team owners can invite any employee they work with to join their team. Microsoft Teams makes it easy for team owners to add people within the company by name.

Team owners can also create a team based on an existing Office 365 Group. Any changes made to the group are automatically synchronized with Microsoft Teams. According to an existing Office 365 Group, creating a team makes it easy to invite and manage members, as well as synchronize group files within Microsoft Teams.

NOTE: Microsoft Teams does not currently support users outside of your company to join teams.

There are two main roles in Microsoft Teams: the "team owner" who is the team creator and "team members" who are the people the team owner invites to join his team. Team owners can make a co-owner at any time when they invite any member of their team to their team, or after joining the team. Having multiple team owners allows you to share the responsibility of managing membership, including settings and invitations.

It is available to Office 365 users who have one of the plans such as Microsoft Teams, Business Essentials, Business Extras, E1, E3 and E5. The installation file of Microsoft Teams software can be downloaded from administrators and end users from https://teams.microsoft.com/downloads . End users using desktop computers can install the Teams application. There is also mobile application support.
