SpaceX sends the Astronaut into space [Live broadcast]

SpaceX, a space transportation company founded by Elon Musk, is preparing to launch 2 astronauts raised by NASA. For the first time in history, live broadcast has begun for the Crew Dragon mission, where a private state-independent company will send people into space.

To date, humans have been sent to space many times, but all these times; It was carried out by government-bound official space agencies such as NASA, ESA, Roscosmos, or JAXA. SpaceX, a private space company founded by Elon Musk, has been able to say it has subscribed to government agencies since the early 2010s.

SpaceX's reusable Falcon 9 rockets are created by combining a total of 3 Falcon 9 Falcon Heavy rockets; Besides the Starship spacecraft, which is said to have a capacity of 100 passengers, there is another important project: Crew Dragon. The Falcon 9 rocket, which carries a load to the Near-Earth orbit, regardless of human control, is now on the launch pad for the Crew Dragon mission, which is now specially designed from clothing.

SpaceX will be the first private company to send people into space:

Since Yuri Gagarin was the first human to space, everyone who went to space was sent by states. Technologies developed so far by SpaceX; It was about to carry the satellites and lifeless loads required for the International Space Station (ISS). For the first time, there are Dragon capsules with Falcon 9 containing 2 astronauts where lifeless loads are always found.

NASA astronauts Douglas Hurley and Bob Behnken have been at the Kennedy Space Center for the past 1 week to complete preparations. In the Dragon capsule developed by SpaceX, two astronauts who will wear special clothes developed for the first time by SpaceX will be the first to be sent to space by a company special to history.

Highlights of the SpaceX Crew Dragon Demo-2 mission:

  • The Dragon capsule has a passenger capacity of 7, but the Demo-2 mission; It will be carried out in the form of a real-time test with 2 astronauts.

  • Dragon capsule with small rockets on it will put the Falcon 9 rocket into space and direct itself to the ISP.

  • The Dragon capsule, which reaches the ISS, will autonomously lock the station, astronauts will begin testing.

  • Inside the dragon capsule, astronauts will perform the controls entirely with touch screens, not buttons.

  • Astronaut Douglas Hurley previously served 28 days 11 hours, astronaut Bob Behnken served 29 days 12 hours in space. So both names have enough experience.

  • The Falcon 9 rocket, which will launch the Dragon capsule with astronauts into space, has completely autonomous systems. It will return to its floating SpaceX station in the Atlantic Ocean on its own.

  • NASA has been using Soyuz rockets developed by Russia since 2011. Another goal of the Crew Dragon is to save NASA from paying millions of dollars to Russia.

  • For the past 9 years, humans have not been sent to space within the US borders. In this sense, Crew Dragon aims to bring the space prestige he lost after a long time to the USA.

  • Also, for the first time in history, a private company will send people into space.

How will SpaceX's special clothing protect astronauts?

The new overalls, which are quite different from the astronaut outfits that we're used to seeing, have a simpler design, but behind this simple and light look, there are no technologies other than superhero costumes. Helmets are printed with 3D printers according to the size of the head of each astronaut. Of course, they are also said to be resistant to high temperatures and cold, extreme conditions.

Another interesting detail about the costumes is its designer. Designing the heroes' costumes for Batman, X-Men, and Thor movies, Jose Fernandez worked with SpaceX for new astronaut clothes.

How will astronauts return to earth?
  • According to SpaceX's plans, after the Dragon capsule is locked to the ISS, astronauts will do several tests for the capsule's adequacy.

  • Then the Dragon capsule will leave the station to return to the earth and will slide towards the earth calculated from space.

  • By the way, rockets on the capsule will be used.

  • The parachute will open and land in the Atlantic Ocean.

  • SpaceX's Go Navigator; The team will take the Dragon capsule and land it.
