Microsoft Announces Date to Retire New Edge Scanner in Windows 7

Microsoft announced the deadline to update the Chromium-based Edge browser for the Windows 7 operating system. Accordingly, the new Edge will receive updates by mid-2021 on Windows 7.


Microsoft's new Chromium-based Edge browser is available on desktop platforms such as Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and macOS. The software giant, on the other hand, plans to support the browser for at least 1 year for Windows 7, which it has terminated.,


Windows 7 has retired as of January and is no longer receiving security updates. However, Microsoft will continue to support updates for the Edge browser until mid-2021. This is an important expansion because Windows 7 still has a large user base, although it is no longer supported.
