Huawei Tests a Technology That Can Detect Coronavirus in 2 Minutes

Technology companies also support the fight against coronavirus in more than 190 countries. Emphasizing the fight against coronavirus, Huawei is working on a disease detection system to detect coronavirus in 2 minutes.

Technology companies continue to work to use artificial intelligence to detect coronavirus. A study similar to DarwinAI 's artificial intelligence that detects the damages of the coronavirus in the lungs is now underway in Huawei. 

According to research to date, coronavirus targets thelungs of the people it infects. For this reason, coronavirus cases are confused with pneumonia in cases where testing is not performed. The x-ray imaging of the damage done by the coronavirus to the lungs allows the diseaseto be detected with artificial intelligence. 

Artificial intelligence, developed with lung x-ray data collected in Huawei Cloud, can detect coronavirus in two minutes. The system is now being tested in some hospitals in the Philippines and Ecuador. The disease detection system provided 98 percent accurate detection in these hospitals.

Huawei is currently using data for lung x-ray images of coronavirus patients in China for its disease detection system. However, the company  continues to work to expand the data set. 

In the trials made so far, Huawei's disease detection system has achieved 98 percent success. However, the system is still unavailable for definitive diagnosis and needs to be tested for a while. However, the system is an excellent alternative to traditional coronavirus tests. 

With this system developed by Huawei, people with suspected coronavirus can be tested quickly. Necessary precautions can be taken for the patient according to the results of Huawei's system until the results of traditional tests come. 

The technology giantis also trying to develop theartificial intelligence-assisted disease detection system to distinguish between the stages and severity of the infection. Health teams will be able to use this system for the advanced stages of treatment after the first diagnosis.
