Huawei is developing a new XR chip for AR glasses that combines GPU and NPU. The first device to use the XR chipset with 8K resolution will be the new glasses of the Chinese-based AR company Rokid, Rokid Vision.
Huawei HiSilicon officially announced the first XR chip that supports 8K resolution .
It has been announced that the first augmented reality (AR) glasses using this chip, which includes a GPU and an NPU powered by artificial intelligence, will be Rokid Vision.
Designed for AR glasses, the XR chip supports 42.7 PPD (pixels per degree) image density , in addition to 8K resolution capability . To give an example from VR, the ideal resolution for the human eye is about 60 PPD. In general, a chip that supports 4KP60 resolution feature can support 21.3 PPD resolution corresponding to 480P.
Rokid Vision will be the first device to use Huawei's XR chip

Huawei HiSilicon's XR chip has a premium decoding feature to provide clearer content. It also uses HiSilicon's NPU architecture, which can provide computing power of up to
9 TOPS .
Rokid Vision looks like a futuristic sunglasses when viewed from the outside . There are two independent screens inside the lenses. The device offers 40 degrees + field of view (FOV) and 1080P 3D display effect. This device uses optical waveguide display solution and offers users an immersive experience with stereo sound.
Rokid Vision can be used in security, industry, education, exhibitions and many other areas. Rokid, together with Huawei , platform-specific algorithm and program; He made optimizations for artificial intelligence processing capabilities such as sound, image and environmental perception . The goal is defined as the interaction of artificial intelligence and collaboration for the XR industry.
