Swedish activist Greta Thunberg donated the prize money she received from a Danish non-governmental organization to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Greta described the coronavirus outbreak as a 'child rights crisis'.

Climate activist Greta Thunberg donated the $ 100,000 award to UNICEF by the Danish non-governmental organization Human Act . The 17-year-old activist used the money to launch a campaign to support UNICEF's work on the coronavirus outbreak, rather than using the money for their own initiatives.

Human Act helped start the campaign with a total donation of $ 200,000. Income from the initiative will go directly to UNICEF's emergency programs to provide healthcare organizations with essential needs, such as soap, masks, gloves, hygiene kits, and protective equipment.

Greta Thunberg: This is an epidemic child rights crisis

In his press statement Greta Thunberg, "like the climate crisis, coronavirus outbreak in a children's rights crisis. Outbreak, now and in the long run will affect all children, but the most vulnerable groups will be affected. From everyone, children to save lives, protect health and to continue training for UNICEF I want to take steps and join me to support vital work. " used expressions.

A report published by the United Nations reveals that the outbreak has a profound effect on the overall well-being of children, although children have been portrayed as the least affected group to date. Children around the world are affected by socio-economic conditions and strict measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

UNICEF continues to work with partners to ensure the continuity of its core services , while also accelerating efforts to reduce the spread of the disease. Key services include access to healthcare and protective equipment support for healthcare workers, as well as distance education, mental health, and psychosocial support. Thunberg, on the other hand, continues to raise awareness about the climate crisis through online platforms, as well as helping UNICEF to combat the epidemic.
